Though it may have rained for the entire day it didn't stop the crowds having a time at the Kirkcaldy Pageant in August 2001.

In fact well over 5000 people, including the four youngsters in our picture, happily braved the elements at Beveridge Park on the final day.

Sunday marked the end of pageant week with a host of floats making their way from the Fife Ice Arena and travelled through the town.

A vintage lorry carried the special guests of honour, the Lang Toun Lad and Lass, Callum Hunter and Stephanie Stephens.

The procession ended in Beveridge Park where the float from St Bryce Kirk was named as the best and a series of fun events took place including a motorcycle display.

The annual event carried on until the final Kirkcaldy Pageant took place in 2006.
