25 years of hurt are wiped out by title winners Methilhill
It’s been 25 years since the Levenmouth club last tasted league success.
But this year was theirs, and on Saturday were officially crowned the Smith and Grant Solicitors and Estate Agents Championship winners.

Hide AdThe title win had been secured seven days before their weekend trip to face Auchtermuchty.
They rounded off their campaign in style, winning 2-1 in front of a large crowd.
Manager Phil Russell paid tribute to everyone who helped the Strollers make history this campaign.
He said: “It’s been a great season and the boys have all performed superbly well.

Hide Ad“It’s been 25 years to the day since the last league triumph for Methilhill so it was special for us all.
“It was great that we had such a support from players of old who all came and celebrated with the new squad.
“We are hoping to continue into next season and bring more silverware back to Methilhill Strollers.
“A Big thank you to all who have helped us this year and from myself and my assistant Stevie Gibson we would like to thank the Douglas Arms and staff for their continued support.”

Hide AdTravelling to Auchtermuchty has never been easy and the weekend was to be no exception.
Auchtermuchty being gracious completed a guard of honour for the newly crowned champions onto the park.
On 30 minutes Donnelly was pushed in the box with the ref pointing to the spot.
Sean McDonagh stroked home expertly, sending the home keeper the wrong way.
It was 2-0 when Goody sent a teasing ball into the box.

Hide AdThe ever present Connolly controlled it on his chest and rattled it into the top corner from 12 yards.
More drama was to come when a 50/50 challenge caused a heated exchange, resulting in one ‘Muchty player being shown the red card.
The 10 men, though, grabbed a late consolation their efforts deserved.
