Police Scotland deployed a helicopter last night to assist officers in Kirkcaldy.

Witnesses say the helicopter circled the area extensively yesterday evening.

It came after reports of a man walking on the railway tracks close to Dunnikier Road.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “The helicopter was called to assist officers and British Transport Police after a man was seen walking on the railway tracks near Dunnikier Road, Kirkcaldy last night.

"A number of searches carried out, but there was no trace of the man.”
