Bomb squad close Fife road to investigate suspicious package

Bomb squad officers sealed off a road in Fife yesterday evening after reports of a suspicious package.

The incident happened near the New Inn Roundabout on the A912.

The rod was closed off while investigations took place, around 5:00pm.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers were called following reports of a suspicious package.”

He added: "A cordon was in place to ensure the safety of the public while it was assessed.

"The EOD attended and removed the device which was non-viable."
