The grey skies and occasional spits of rain did little to deter the locals and the more daring souls from heading down the Links Market as it opened on yesterday (Wednesday).

But will it be brollies at the ready this weekend - or can you forgo the waterproofs for once?

According to the Met Office, today (Thursday) looks set to be a good day to head down to the Prom for a wee spin on the waltzers, as there’s only a 10 per cent chance of rain all day and even spells of sunshine expected.

You might need a hat to cover those ears though – temperatures are only expected to reach a high of seven degrees celsius all day.

Tomorrow (Friday) the rain makes an unwelcome return in the morning, and is expected to last until lunchtime.

However, an end of week Links Market treat might be just the ticket for all the family as the Met Office says the rain will clear up by late afternoon, although temperatures are staying low with highs of just six degrees celsius.

And with wind speeds of up to 10mph, you’ll definitely need a coat as it’ll feel more like three degrees celsius down on that promenade.

Come Saturday, you might even spot the sunshine first thing, but the cloud is expected to make an appearance by lunchtime, keeping the town covered for most of the day. That will raise temperatures slightly, with highs of eight degrees celsius, and there’s only a five per cent chance of rain all day.

On Sunday, the cloud sticks around, but again the chance of rain is low with only a six per cent chance of precipitation in the afternoon.

And on the final day, Monday, April 18, thick cloud is expected, with highs of 11 degrees celsius.
