Over the course of an impressive career, Deborah Bonham has established herself as one of the finest blues rock vocalists the UK has produced. A string of critically acclaimed original album releases, captivating standing ovation concert performances at the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, and on the recent USA Amphitheatre Tour with Paul Rodgers, Jeff Beck and Ann Wilson of Heart, have kept her at the very forefront of the international press and music scene.

Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy, Thursday, February 20 to Saturday, February 22 (7.15pm daily and 2.30pm Saturday matinee)

Kirkcaldy Youth Music Theatre bring their latest production to the Adam Smith stage this week. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical brings all the beloved characters to life on stage, featuring all new songs. It’s the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wise-cracking donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. 3 Gnoss

Kirkcaldy Acoustic Music Club, Polish Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Kirkcaldy, Thursday, February 20

The folk four-piece play this local gig off the back of their two sold-out shows at this year’s Celtic Connections festival. The boys will be playing material from their Album Of The Year nominated 2019 release ‘Drawn From Deep Water’ as well as some brand-new music.

The Byre Theatre, St Andrews, Saturday, February 22 (7.30pm)

With guitars, bodhrans and mandolin in hand, The Sorries sing, play and banter their way through a selection of songs from the much-loved Scottish songbook. Although some date back over 300 years, the pair’s arrangements and harmonies make the tunes sound as vibrant as ever. This promises to be a great evening of traditional music you’re sure to enjoy.

Limelight Productions bring their latest piece of musical theatre to the Dunfermline stage. This time it’s their take on Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic about the aging star of the silent screen Norma Desmond.

6 Zoe Gilby Family Jazz All Stars

Zoe and her band of musicians will present a family jazz programme followed by a quartet set at this concert, organised by Langtoun Jazz. The family jazz programme is ideal for the whole family from children to grandparents. It’s a fun-filled tribute to jazz singers past and present; an energetic whistle-stop journey through jazz like no other. While the Quartet set features original compositions, which are written with double bassist husband Andy Champion.

7 Chinese Whispers

Kings Live Lounge, Kirkcaldy, Saturday, February 22 (7.30pm)

Three fifths of the band, who originally formed in 1984 in Clydebank, are reforming to spotlight a new album About Time. It’s the result of a university project by songwriter and keyboards player Graham Holley, who attempted to create an album that sounds like it was written and recorded in 1986. Holley is joined by singer Calum McRae and bassist Brian Munro from the original line-up, and David MacDonald and Robert Wilson. This reunion is one not to be missed.

8 Highlights from the Arts Collection

Kirkcaldy Galleries, Kirkcaldy, until May 27

This new exhibition features a selection of ONFife’s artworks, which have been carefully chosen as part of a major rehang of two of the venues art galleries. One room features paintings with a Fife connection and the other shows Scottish contemporary art. There’s everything from rural landscapes to beautiful interiors and famous Fifers. Among the works is a painting by John Bellany, loaned especially for this display, and David Mach’s coathanger head sculpture.

9 Magical Landscape Trail

Falkland Centre for Stewardship, Falkland, Saturday, February 22 to Sunday, April 19

Fife high school pupils have worked with a team of local artists to create a series of magical habitats for imagined woodland creatures. Pick up a map from the Centre for Stewardship’s Hub cafe and follow the circular trail through the woods keeping an eye out for willow structures and fairy doors along the way. There’s also an indoor display featuring photographic etchings of magical creatures created by the pupils.
