Rovers made the short trip to Methil to take on Denbeath in the Premier League.

Denbeath started brightly and had Rovers pinned back in the opening minutes as they tried to get themselves in front.

Rovers went ahead when Wilkie finished off a Cameron cut-back.

The same duo combined again to increase Rovers’ lead with Wilkie this time the creator.

Rovers continued going forward and heaped further misery on Denbeath with a third goal.

A long ball from defence found Cameron homing in on goal and the big striker lifted the ball deftly over the keeper to make it 0-3.

Denbeath were struggling to stem Rovers’ attacks or retain any possession and, again, the visitors exploited this on the half hour mark when David Wilson floated in a cross from the left where an unmarked Lee Allan headed home.

With the clock running down before the break Wilkie gathered the ball in midfield and struck a superb curling effort into the top corner of the net.

The Denbeath half time team talk paid dividends as they were quickest out of the blocks, catching Pittenweem cold, grabbing a goal back just 30 seconds after the restart to make it 1-5.

Next week, Rovers travel to Valleyfield for a league fixture with a 2.00pm kick off.
