Man dies after disturbance in Kirkcaldy

Police are investigating after the death of a 41-year-old man in Kirkcaldy on Saturday.

Officers were called to Farne Court around 6 .10 pm after reports of a disturbance.

The injured man was taken to the Victoria Hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service where he later died.

Officers are pursuing a positive line of inquiry in relation to this incident.

The area was cordoned off as door to door inquires took place.

Chief Inspector Steven Hamilton of Kirkcaldy police station said: “Our inquiries are at an early stage but we believe this to have been an isolated incident and the wider community need not be alarmed.

“We would ask anyone who has information that can assist us to please get in touch.

“There will be high-visibility patrols in the area to provide community reassurance and members of the public are encouraged to speak to an officer.”
