Kirkcaldy man shouted, swore and made racially offensive remarks at two town petrol stations

A Kirkcaldy man who shouted, swore and made racially offensive remarks at two town petrol stations has had his sentence deferred for a month.

Jonathan Watling, of Westwood Avenue, was not in court when his case called before Sheriff Keith O’Mahoney.

Watling, 35, previously admitted that on December 4, 2020 at BP Garage, 203 St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner in that he shouted, swore and uttered racially offensive remarks while on bail.

He further admitted on the same date at Malthurst Ltd, Wemyssfield Service Station, Abbotshall Road, Kirkcaldy he stole a coffee while on bail.

He admitted on the same date in the same place he behaved in a threatening manner in that he shouted, swore, uttered threats and racially offensive remarks, contrary to the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.

The court heard Watling was currently in custody, had mental health difficulties and was waiting for a psychiatric assessment. Sentence was deferred until April 29.
