The day Dr Who star David Tennant was mobbed by hundreds of fans at a Fife theatre
The doors to the Adam Smith Theatre may be shut right now, but three years ago, the building enjoyed a bit of stardust as David Tennant’s red carpet appearance saw him mobbed by hundreds of fans.
The former Dr Who actor was the special gust at the 2018 Festival of Ideas where he joined a sell-out crowd for a Scottish premiere screening of his film, You, Me And Him.
He also chatted on stage with host, Arabella Weir.
Tennant’s appearance sparked a ticket rush, and fans travelled from across the globe just to see him.

Demand was so great, the event had to be streamed into the adjoining Beveridge Suite.
By the time Tennant arrived, hundreds of fans were packed into the foyer of the building, eager for a selfie with the star of Broadchurch.
The weekend also saw Sandi Toksvig deliver one of the very best Adam Smith Lectures - and pledge to return to stage a fundraising show for the Cottage Centre.
