We would love to see you back at Bayview

Darren Young is hoping to welcome fans back to Bayview when the new League One season kicks off.

The nation’s bottom two tiers are edging closer towards joining the Championship in starting a 27 match campaign on October 17, with the Betfred Cup likely to be played in the weeks running up to that.

Although the dates have yet to be officially signed off, the Methil manager is working towards them and expects to have his squad back in for training at the tail end of summer.

Young said: “We should be able to make a start to pre-season around the end of August if everything goes to plan.

“But we still have to see how the testing is going to work so we may have to wait until closer to the time.

“We’d be looking at using the Oriam for Thursdays and Tuesdays and using the stadium at the weekends - hopefully anyway.”

Allowing supporters back into grounds is likely to come far too soon for the Premiership beginning again at the start of August.

But by the time mid-October arrives, Young is optimistic that some supporters may be able to watch the game inside the ground.

“We’re still working on the presumption that it’s going to be behind closed doors,” said the manager.

“But we’re still three months away so if things are ok by then, maybe you could do something.

“From our point of view you could probably get 600 in if it was at a metre distancing.
