Drivers in Methil were diverted this morning (Wednesday) after a main road was closed following a crash.

Police were called to the scene of the road traffic collision around 7.50am this morning following a report that a car had struck a lamppost on Sea Road, Methil.

Scottish Ambulance Service crews attended the scene and it is not thought that the driver of the car sustained any life-threatening injuries.

However, the decision was taken to close the road because the lampost was deemed to be in a dangerous state.

Fife Council were called to clear the damaged structure just before 9am this morning.
